what's this??? a meuseum

Here is something I forgot to mention in my writeup about the Trivandrumi temple. It seems there is a museum near it. Well since I have never been inside that thing I cant tell you a lot about it. But this being Trivandrum there is most probably nothing in that museum worth watching anyway.

Padhmanabha Swami Temple

Padmanabha Swami Temple is in the centre of this small city. Entry into this temple requires that you should be wearing a Mundu/Lungi/Dhoti/LoinCloth/Whatever its called. Make sure that you have brought your own Mundu/Lungi/Dhoti/LoinCloth/Whatever its called, coz I'm sure that you dont want some old, dirty rag a million others have worn before you up your legs!!! And more importantly dont try to fool the temple dudes by foldin your pants up and weaing the mundu over it, coz if any slipup occurs, you are in for big trouble. It would be a good idea if you wear a belt to keep your mundu in place. Once you do get in, remember not to take anything from someone who looks like a pandit. That will eventually cost you some money. Have a good look around. There are a lot of old murals and paintings to see. The huge idol of the god Vishnu lying down is worth seeing. There are three seperate doors for three parts of the body. The Temple is full of many sculptures you should look in all directions if you want to see them all and take your time coz you dont have much else to see in the city. You should try the prasadam not because its tasty but it may also give you some good luck in keeping your mundu up. Around the temple is the Fort. East Fort which is towards the front of this temple, and the direction you probably came from has lots of gold shops. So this is a good place not to bring your wife/girlfriend if you are on a budget trip. there are also many shops where you can get lots of banana and jackfrut chips which are the malayalee counterparts to Lays. Another thing you should try in Kerala is the Sharjah Shake from any juice shop. Trivandrum also has its own special variety of bananas which look quite similar to a thing that hangs out of a guy's groin!!!!!!!!!!
